International Development Observer (IDO) is a group in China that helps with things around the world. The people who lead it are very experienced in helping countries grow. IDO works on three main things: how countries work together, how one country helps another, and big problems that affect everyone. Since it started in 2020, IDO has written lots of articles, and many people from different countries have read them. These readers are from governments, the United Nations and NGOs.
Now, IDO wants students to help check how well their articles are translated into English. Here’s what the students will do.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the IDO team and volunteers who will be tasked:
•Read the English versions of articles that were first written in Chinese.
•Make the English articles on the IDO website even better.
WHAT YOU GET
•Your name will be on the articles you help with, like you’re the editor.
•You can write your own articles about the things IDO cares about and put them on the website.
•You can be offered a recommendation letter upon your request.
SELECTION REQUIREMENT
•Be fluent in English.
•Better to be fluent in Chinese too, but it’s not a must.
•Have done well in school.
•Be excited to make a difference.
