The Musée d’Orsay in Paris brings its largest-ever China exhibition to the Museum of Art Pudong in Shanghai, displaying over 100 real masterpieces (代表作) by famous artists and Shanghai is the only stop worldwide.
The exhibition features famous works from the 1840s to the early 1900s. It focuses on Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, with highlights like Van Gogh’s Bedroom in Arles and Self-Portrait. Works by Monet, Cézanne, and Degas are also on show, telling a clear story of how art changed from classical to modern styles. Besides great paintings, the exhibition also presents over 20 important sculptures (雕塑), including Rodin’s Bust of Victor Hugo, Edgar’s bronze (铜) figures, and Gauguin’s Tahitian wood carvings.
