Few world events can conjure the kind of widespread dynamic energy that the FIFA World Cup does. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026. Here are some frequently asked questions about it.
How to buy tickets?
According to FIFA’s announcements, tickets for the 2026 World Cup are expected to go on sale in 2025. You can register on FIFA’s official website to receive updates. Ticket sales will be available through FIFA’s official ticketing platform, and there will also be hospitality packages through FIFA’s partner, On Location, which may include VIP seating and VIP experiences.
Where to live?
For travelers on a budget, cities like Kansas City, Houston, and Philadelphia will likely offer more affordable accommodations than New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, which have higher living costs. Budget travelers should consider the following:
●Hostels and budget hotels: Motel 6, Super 8, and Holiday Inn Express offer reasonable rates.●Airbnb & Vacation Rentals: Sharing a rental with other fans can reduce costs.
●Staying Outside City Centers: Suburbs near stadiums often have cheaper hotels with public transport access to games.
How to travel between host cities?
Traveling between host cities will require careful planning due to the vast distances. Options include:
●Flights: The fastest option between most cities, with major airline offering frequent routes.
●Trains: Available in some regions (e. g., Amtrak in the U.S. and VIA Rail in Canada),but not always the most efficient.
●Buses: Greyhound, Megabus, and FlixBus offer budge friendly intercity travel.
●Car Rentals: Ideal for shorter distances but not recommended for long cross-country travel.
What safety measures should you take?
●Be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas.
●Use official taxis and rideshares.
●Keep valuables secure and avoid carrying large sums of. cash.
●Stay updated on local safety advisories.

It’s still dark as my husband, brother-in-law, nephew and I walk toward where our boat is waiting. We’re on a family holiday on the west coast of Canada, and the four of us have booked a fishing trip with a local guide. This is my first open-water fishing trip, and I get butterflies in my stomach. We board the boat, and I watch the sky lighten, reflecting on the decision that brought me to this moment.
For most of my adult life, I’d chosen to stay safely in a series of “sheltered harbors”. It took my mother’s death from breast disease at age sixty-five to wake me. My mother lived with courage right to the end of her journey. In contrast, I had let fear play far too big a role in my life. As I reflected on how I wanted to spend my remaining years, I knew I had to make some big changes.
And now, I am living with the decision to be brave. By this point, I’ve already forced myself into a number of courage-building experiences. If my recent adventures have taught me anything, it’s to stay in the moment. To keep myself grounded in this moment, I focus on my seven-year-old nephew. He’s excited to be out on the water. His excitement is unexpectedly influential. I begin to think that this fishing trip might actually become more than a test of courage. I might enjoy my time at sea.
With this new mindset, everything changes. I stop monitoring myself for the first signs of panic. I take in the sea, the sky, the forested islands to the north, and the snow-capped mountains behind them. There’s salt on my lips and wind in my hair. I’m alive!
